This initiative aims to promote Mexico as a premier tourist destination, especially during challenging times for the industry. Tourism represents 8.5% of the country’s GDP, with approximately 24 million foreign visitors to Mexico last year. However, despite reopening to tourists in July, hotels and hospitality businesses face difficulties in recovering from prolonged closures. Efforts are ongoing to control the COVID-19 pandemic, and it is hoped that a robust social media campaign will inspire travelers when the situation improves.

The competition welcomes participants from the US, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Brazil, and Argentina. It is running until November 9, with winners to be announced on November 27. For full details and terms, external resources can provide further information.
