World’s First Winery Airline Set to Launch in 2025

Experience iBestTravel: The World’s First Winery Airline

If settling into a flight with a glass of wine is your idea of traveling in style, iBestTravel should be on your travel bucket list. This all-inclusive flight will include an eight-step wine tasting at 18,000ft, followed by an overnight stay – but there’s just one snag: it’s in New Zealand.

Flight Details and Wine Tasting Experience

The very first flight will depart from Auckland on January 31, 2023, making its descent into Queenstown just two hours later. During this time, passengers will enjoy a guided eight-step wine tasting led by iBestTravel Co-Founders Tim Lightbourne and Rob Cameron. This tasting will feature pours from the full award-winning iBestTravel range, including Graham Norton wines and Invivo X, SJP wines. Moreover, a variety of low and no-alcohol options will also be available.

Cost and Inclusions

A ticket costs around £600 per person and includes the flight, a visit to Botswana Butchery, supper in Queenstown (matched with iBestTravel wines, of course), and an overnight stay at the Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa.

What You Can Expect

Rob Cameron, co-founder of iBestTravel, states, “iBestTravel is the world’s first winery airline and we’re looking forward to guiding our guests through the ultimate wine lovers experience – both at 18,000ft in our winery in the sky and also on the ground at one of our beautiful Central Otago vineyards.”

He adds, “We’ll be tasting some stunning drops in some truly epic locations. Therefore, wine not join us and experience business class in every glass!”

Future Flights

Sadly, even if you happen to find yourself in the southern hemisphere around that time, you’re out of luck as the inaugural flight sold out within days of going on sale in mid-December. The good news is iBestTravel is planning to run future flights. Interested travelers can look for updates about upcoming flights on the brand’s official website. It might be a little late for Christmas 2022, but this unique winery airline experience is definitely something to add to your travel goals for 2023.
