Residence by Investment

According to Juerg Steffen, the CEO of Henley & Partners, “The right to live, work, study, and invest in leading international wealth hubs such as New York, London, Singapore, Sydney, and Hong Kong can be secured via residence by investment.” This opportunity allows individuals to relocate themselves and their families or choose between multiple residences worldwide, which is increasingly significant for international wealth planning.

The Wealth Ranking

Besides New York City, Tokyo ranks as the second wealthiest city, boasting 290,300 millionaires. Following Tokyo, California’s Bay Area has 285,000 millionaires, while London follows with 258,000, and Singapore with 240,100 millionaires. Consequently, Los Angeles ranks sixth with 205,400 millionaires, whereas Chicago claims the eleventh spot with 124,000 millionaires.

Budget-Friendly Activities

While some cities are known for their high cost of living, they also offer affordable experiences. For instance, New York provides a variety of economical hotels and free activities. Visitors can enjoy the Staten Island Ferry, birdwatching in Central Park, or a scenic walk across the Brooklyn Bridge—activities that are either free or low-cost.

Similarly, in San Francisco, travelers can walk or bike the iconic Golden Gate Bridge, have a picnic at Alamo Square Park, or tour the famous Mission Murals—all for minimal expense.
